POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Field Service Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our technology infrastructure and ensuring that our end-users have the technology they need to deliver exceptional patient care across all locations. The IT Field Service Technician will provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance across our numerous locations, ensuring that all hardware and software systems operate smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, this position requires a customer-focused mindset and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of hardware and software systems, particularly in a healthcare environment.
Participates in IT on-call support rotation. This is a rotating IT Support schedule that includes evening and weekend coverage.
Essential Functions of the Job:Technical Support:
- Provide immediate, on-site and remote technical assistance for a variety of hardware and software issues related to computers, peripherals, and A/V systems across various healthcare facilities and administrative buildings.
- Respond to service requests within designated timeframes, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations.
- Conduct thorough assessments of reported issues to determine the most efficient and effective resolution strategies.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 2 years of IT support experience, preferably in a healthcare environment or similar setting
VERBAL AND WRITTEN SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB:
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service and teamwork
- Ability to communicate and interact successfully with a diverse community and to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with colleagues and staff members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with focus in technical or instruction-oriented writing and in clearly communicating complicated concepts over the phone, in person and in writing
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB:
- Proficiency in Windows operating system, Apple iOS, networking concepts, and common office software applications
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting in an ergonomically appropriate position for periods of time
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed and work in various locations throughout San Diego County; significant lifting or adjusting of computer equipment in an average of 50 lbs.
- General office environment
- Travel required, mainly within San Diego County
- Participates in IT on-call support rotation; this is a rotating IT Support schedule that includes evening and weekend coverage
