JOB SUMMARY

The IT Generalist is responsible for all things IT. Ensuring the stable operation of our organization’s network infrastructure, software, and hardware. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links. The role also involves troubleshooting network issues, hardware issues, and supporting BIL staff and customers. There is the opportunity to transition into a specialized role once settled into this position.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in an information technology related field.
  • Relevant certifications (Fortinet NSE, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.) are a plus.
  • 2+ Years of IT or related experience.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of networking protocols (TCP/UDP, IP, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of computer hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and manage software for internal and external systems.
  • Maintain and monitor physical servers, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshoot IT-related issues and provide technical support to customers and staff.
