SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused IT Help Desk Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems. This role will require strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for helping others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent with three to five years in an IT environment. Certifications in the following are a plus: VMware, Cisco or HP Networking, Microsoft Desktops and Servers and Linux Servers.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Must possess hands-on experience with the following, VMware, NAS and/or SAN storage, Cisco/HP routers, switches and WAPs, Cisco/Sonicwall or equivalent Firewalls, WAN/VPN configuration/installation, VOIP systems, Microsoft Desktop and Server operating systems, Active Directory/LDAP, Linux Servers
Experience with ZoHo CRM, NetSuite ERP, WordPress, and coding experience with any of the following languages/platforms: JavaScript, JQuery, React.js, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3 is a plus

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide first-level technical support to employees.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
  • Set up and configure new workstations, laptops, and other IT equipment.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of software and applications.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff as needed.
  • Document and track issues and solutions.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of IT assets, such as computers, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Perform routine system checks to ensure the health of internal networks, servers, and devices.
  • Provide training and support on basic IT procedures and software applications.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees by providing initial IT training and configuring their devices.
  • Monitor and maintain company security protocols, ensuring that antivirus software and updates are up to date.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends to suggest improvements to the IT infrastructure.
