Your mission, roles and responsibilities

The role of the IT Infrastructure Engineer at the Koriyama Plant is to manage the relationship between the Japan IT team and the site within the assigned zone, ensuring that users receive agreed-upon services from the Japan IT team as defined in a common Service Level Agreement (SLA). The

main mission of this role is as follows:

1. Collaboration with the team

1.1 Collaboration with Japan IT or Headquarters IT

1.2 Manage requirements requested from the site and coordinate with the appropriate business departments and Headquarters IT as needed

1.3 Lead the design and implementation of the detailed infrastructure applied to manufacturing at the Koriyama Plant

1.4 Lead the consideration and implementation of equipment/systems specific to the manufacturing site while harmonizing with existing standards/infrastructure

1.5 Effectively operate IT operations, especially those related to the manufacturing site, based on a standardized environment

1.6 Support the workloads of other IT infrastructure members.

2. Management of Information Resources and IT Infrastructure:

2.1 Software control and distribution

2.2 IT resource and system capability, throughput management

2.3 User request management

2.4 Incident management

2.5 Change management: Request change management, verification and planning, priority management

2.6 IT infrastructure configuration management: Provides control of the IT infrastructure by supporting actual information about the configuration of IT systems, change history, and relationships between different objects in the IT system.

2.7 System Availability Management: Problem management; failure mode and risk analysis; backup mode management; availability monitoring; prepare and update SLAs according to corporate standards and business needs.

3. Information Systems Management

3.1 Manage the setup and planned maintenance of IT systems in accordance with corporate standards.

3.2 Manage externally supported IT systems by communicating with internal shared services.

3.3 Manage work instructions on how to use IT systems and user support.

3.4 Inquire with users about how to use IT systems and support to select appropriate IT solutions that meet business needs.

3.5 Manage IT security requirements for IT systems (restricting access with firewalls, using strong passwords, restricting the use of insecure data transfer protocols).

3.6 Manage software licenses and software maintenance contracts in the IT responsibility area.

4. Physical IT Infrastructure Management

4.1 Build redundant IT infrastructure in accordance with internal standards and support internal shared IT services and external suppliers.

4.2 Achieve high availability of critical IT infrastructure (cable wiring, IT cooling systems, gas fire suppression systems, UPS, LAN, Wi-Fi, service availability).

4.3 Support high availability of external data transfer channels (Internet, WAN, VPN connections with customers).

4.4 4. Management of LAN equipment with support from Japan IT and Head Office IT Cisco

4.5 Monitoring and management of IT system availability

4.6 Concluding maintenance contracts with suppliers for IT systems (server room cooling systems, UPS battery replacement, server hardware, fire prevention and extinguishing systems)

4.7 Management of IT system and spare parts purchases

4.8 Asset management according to the entire lifecycle: "Plan" -> "Purchase" -> "Use" -> "Decommission"

4.9 Ensuring the application of group standards, especially for hardware and software. Security policies, software license management, IT asset management, etc.

5 Data Management

5.1 Manage data backups according to corporate standards

5.2 Manage data storage availability and system capacity

5.3 How support users manage access to IT data and support through periodic access audits (file servers, IT systems)

6 MES Manufacturing Execution System Management (including warehouse management)

6.1 Provide high availability linked to MES

IT infrastructure 6.2 MES IT Failure Risk Management (FMEA). Implement MES backup mode in cooperation with MES users and vendors.

6.3 Investigate MES IT incidents and provide preventative measures. To that end, work with MES users and vendors.

6.4 Managing user access to the MES system

6.5 Documenting the relationship between MES and other systems. Managing work instructions on how to configure printers, scanners, dashboards, and PCs to work with MES

6.6 Supporting the availability of data exchange channels between MES, ERP, and customer VPN.

Your profile and competencies to succeed

qualifications 

• Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree specializing in information technology

or 5 years of experience in the IT field of the automotive industry

• English level: Business/Fluent

• Japanese level: Business/Fluent

experience:

▪ 5+ years of practical experience in information technology management at a medium to large-sized organization.

• VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory,

• Backup systems, LAN/WAN, MES.

• Experience building redundant IT infrastructure.
