Job Summary SSR Total IT is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and a key contributor within our Infrastructure & Security Engineering division. In this role, you will own the stability, security, and long-term improvement of client environments including networks, servers, cloud platforms, and security systems. You will troubleshoot complex issues, lead infrastructure projects, and work directly with clients to align technology with business needs. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, working across multiple environments, and driving proactive improvements Key Responsibilities Act as the primary technical lead for assigned client environments Design, implement, and maintain servers, networking, firewalls, backups, and cloud platforms Support and architect Microsoft 365 and Azure environments Lead migrations, upgrades, virtualization, and infrastructure projects Provide senior escalation for Help Desk and NOC teams Perform proactive system reviews and recommend improvements Guide clients on security, backup, and disaster recovery best practices Requirements Required 4+ years supporting IT infrastructure environments Strong Windows Server / Active Directory experience Networking fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switching) Microsoft 365 / Azure experience VMware or Hyper-V experience Strong troubleshooting and client communication skills Preferred MSP or consulting experience Veeam / Datto / backup platforms Endpoint security tools Certifications (Azure, VMware, Cisco, Security+, etc.) Typical Client Environments Windows Server environments Microsoft 365 / Azure / hybrid identity VMware / Hyper-V Meraki / Cisco networking Backup & disaster recovery platforms Endpoint security & MFA solutions How This Role Fits Within Our Team Help Desk ?
