About us
We’re part of the Heureka Group, and we’re on the lookout for a friendly and talented IT & Infrastructure Engineer to be a part of our international team. If you’re passionate about technology and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we’d love to hear from you!
At Árukereső, you’ll join our IT Operations & Security team, where your expertise will keep our platform running smoothly for over 20 million online shoppers across Eastern Europe every month. Your efforts help us make shopping decisions easier and support our mission to provide the best product and price comparison service.
How we operate:
- We contribute to the creation of infrastructure vision for a large distributed system;
- We work closely with development teams on the design and operation of applications;
- We want to do things properly, we prefer if our work takes longer, but the result is of higher quality;
- We are an autonomous team that plans activities ourselves and values mutual trust and open communication;
- Infrastructure as code approach: what is not in configuration management as if it did not exist (Terraform, Ansible);
- We cooperate with colleagues from the Czech Republic and Slovenia (we communicate in English).
What you will do:
In this role, you’ll drive technology trends, improve engineering practices and support colleagues while keeping an eye on the system’s performance. You’ll collaborate closely with teammates and developers, occasionally contributing to cost management and product discovery efforts.
- Drive team technology and improve engineering best practices by creating proof of concepts and live data prototypes;
- Keep up-to-date with new technologies and trends, integrating them into the team and seeking ways to reduce technical debt;
- Monitor system behavior in production, ensuring SLA/SLO compliance and participating in on-call rotations;
- Enforce and observe team processes, suggesting improvements, and ensuring everyone understands their benefits;
- Support team member collaboration and development, including peer-to-peer programming and assisting newcomers;
- Cooperate closely with team members and developers during development and project discovery phases;
- Occasionally participate in cost management activities and actively contribute to the OKR creation process.
What you can’t do without:
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef);
- Overview of Linux containers (Docker), networks (firewalls, VPN), and web protocols;
STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF DATABASES AND TOOLS (MYSQL, GALERA/PXC, PROXYSQL, REDIS) AND NETWORKING TECHNOLOGIES (VLAN, LACP, BGP);
- Practical knowledge of git;
- Ability to help colleagues and take responsibility for work;
- Problem-solving skills for complex issues, regardless of the cause (DNS or application errors);
- Passion for learning and new technologies.
What will help you:
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, KV databases, S3, advanced network knowledge;
- Experience working in a cloud environment;
- Scripting experience;
- Experience with Gitlab and its CI/CD;
- MogileFS, HA-NFS.
What you can look forward to with us:
- Hybrid working model: We offer flexibility with the option for remote work; however, it is required to be in the office 2-3 days per week;
- Benefit package: 45.000 Ft (in gross) cafeteria allowance, +5 extra holidays, AYCM card, English language learning and mental health support contribution, loyalty bonus and much more…;
- Modern environment, easily accessible office in the city centre;
- Learning and development opportunities, a team of seasoned professionals;
- Freedom and space to explore new things;
- Long-term job opportunities in employee employment.
