Description
In the role of IT Infrastructure Operations Specialist in our Global IT Operations function, you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer. You will help ensure the optimal performance, availability, and security of GN’s global IT infrastructure—supporting the platforms and technologies that enable our employees, partners, and customers around the world. The team you will be part of You will join Global IT Operations, part of our global Group IT organization. We design, maintain, and support IT services and technologies that serve as the foundation for the entire GN Group. Across the EP C domain, we are a team of around 150 IT professionals—including engineers, architects, operations specialists, delivery managers, and security experts—who design, build, and run the platforms that keep GN connected. We work closely with each other and across teams to continuously improve how we operate and to deliver stable, secure, and efficient IT services. Your contribution is appreciated, and you will: Capacity & Availability Management Monitor and analyze resource usage to anticipate future capacity needs Prepare and share reports on capacity and availability metrics with stakeholders Work with technical teams to resolve issues related to capacity or performance Keep documentation for capacity and availability processes up to date Help implement strategies that ensure optimal service availability and performance Contribute to infrastructure optimization initiatives across Group IT. Monitoring & Reporting Implement and maintain monitoring tools to track system health and performance Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement Work closely with other specialists to ensure effective monitoring processes Provide input for reports on operational metrics and KPIs Maintain documentation for monitoring and reporting activities. Service Request, Incident & Problem Management Respond to incidents, perform initial troubleshooting, ensure communication and timely resolution (e.g., VM failure, storage issues, network and connectivity errors) Dispatch incoming tickets to the appropriate resolver teams or individuals Support major incidents, post-incident investigations, and take part in an on-call rotation Handle standard IT infrastructure requests (e.g., server provisioning, backup/restore, firewall port requests) Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and document findings Categorize and manage events for appropriate response and escalation Collaborate with technical teams to reduce service disruptions and improve incident management Maintain documentation of incidents, problems, and resolutions. Security & Compliance Support the regular patching of IT infrastructure Apply and monitor security policies and practices across operations Act on security findings in collaboration with the IT SOC team Conduct periodic audits of administrative user access Monitor for vulnerabilities and potential security incidents Help ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies. To perform well in the role, we imagine that you: Bring at least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure operations or a similar technical role (e.g., Windows operations, SCCM, virtualization, ServiceNow) Are proficient in handling IT service management practices such as incident, problem, and request management Are familiar with monitoring tools and reporting solutions (e.g., SCOM, SolarWinds) Understand cybersecurity concepts and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001) Communicate clearly and collaborate well with colleagues across functions in Group IT Enjoy analyzing data, solving problems, and improving processes Work in a structured and detail-oriented way Hold a relevant educational background in IT or a related field. Responsibilities
The IT Infrastructure Operations Specialist will monitor and analyze resource usage, ensuring optimal performance and availability of the IT infrastructure. They will also respond to incidents, support major incidents, and contribute to security and compliance efforts.
