The IT Infrastructure Project Design Manager will oversee the passive network infrastructure design requirements for new projects across APAC locations. This role involves leading projects, managing and guiding vendors and local site teams, collaborating with designers, liaising with other project team members and stakeholders, and communicating with senior management. This role is crucial for ensuring that the passive network infrastructure requirements for projects are designed and implemented effectively across APAC locations, ensuring that projects meet the required standards and specifications. Key Responsibilities: Manage the IT change management process for all project works across APAC. Review and change requests in collaboration with the APAC IT Infrastructure Operations Manager, and provide approval all IT project related changes Approve out-of-cycle change management requests for works in IT rooms as and when required. Review IT deployments in rooms, focusing on works that affect capacity. Evaluate designs for new passive IT/ network infrastructure to ensure efficient and appropriately sized spaces. Oversee handovers, including process and approvals, checklist creation, and approval. Conduct patching management software system reviews to ensure new sites have the correct inputs. Manage power management systems (IQ), including database building and ongoing management. The role does not have any direct reports but relies on leadership and management of subcontractor staff to ensure engagement, coordination and successful project delivery. Liaise with relevant project stakeholders and internal team members of project design to e sure coordination and engagement. Gather technology requirements from Tech teams to support the design aspect of new projects. Design all passive network infrastructure requirements by gathering requirement information from all parties. Estimate power consumption based on the Technology BOM for engineering design. Design passive network/ IT infrastructure layout, including the number of racks, frames, positions, and support decision making on cooling and power placement. Assess the suitability and applicability of suitable containment systems for infrastructure. Design passive hardware layouts for cabinet elevations, including infrastructure, and support the design for power and airflow provision. Design cable presentation in patch frames to ensure the shortest patching is achievable. Design cabling requirements for switch, router, and Wi-Fi replacements, including rack positions, and assess power and cooling capacities to ensure smooth changeover. Role Requirements: Min 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure project design within a similar environment. Degree level qualification in IT/ infrastructure related discipline supplemented with relevant vocational qualifications Strong technical skills to lead design, make efficient and effective decisions, and support project delivery on time and within budget. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with local and regional engineering teams, project management teams, and technology teams.
