Adecco is currently seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Server Technician for a temporary role in Ajax, ON offering $46-$50/hour. The technician will support infrastructure projects by building and configuring physical and virtual servers, maintaining Windows/Linux environments, and ensuring secure and efficient IT operations. This hands-on role includes Level 2 support, technical documentation, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and compliant infrastructure solutions.

• Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
• Recognized University degree or College diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering (required).
• MCSA and Cisco CCNA certifications (or working towards them) preferred.
• MCTS certification is an asset.
• Windows Server (2012/2016/2019), VMWare, Citrix
• Networking (TCP/IP, OSI model), firewalls, monitoring tools (Nagios, Nessus)
• PowerShell scripting
• Security protocols and compliance standards
• Technical writing related to IS projects
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and translate business requirements
• Customer service focus and continuous improvement mindset
• Adaptability and excellent time management
• Must be able to meet Services Canada CGR requirements up to NATO level clearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement infrastructure needed to deploy new industrial technologies.
• Execute activities to support new or existing tech infrastructure.
• Prepare technical documentation: network diagrams, DRP docs, change controls, training, and handover documents.
• Build and rack physical servers.
• Install, configure, and monitor Windows 2016/2019 Enterprise servers.
• Create VMWare servers for Windows, Linux, SharePoint, SQL, WSUS, Middleware.
• Configure storage/backup solutions and ensure security/auditing protocols.
• Configure network/Wi-Fi (Cisco) for new initiatives.
• Act as L2 support for IS Infrastructure/Platforms.
• Diagnose/troubleshoot issues in physical/virtual servers, networks, or security systems.
• Administer Unix/Linux systems: SUSE, HP-UX, IBM-AIX.
• Perform OS/firmware updates and develop PowerShell scripts to automate admin tasks.
