Description

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing, estimating, and implementing medium to large-scale cabling and network infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in project management (as a project manager or project engineer role) for facilities or infrastructure teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • RCDD Certification is required.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent is desired but not required.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • RCDD in good standing.
  • Other industry certificates like OSP, NTS, CCDA, CCNA, CTS, and CTS-D are a plus.
  • Solid working knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and design perspective.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite is required, including creating diagrams in Visio.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam software to markup design drawings.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of NEC code, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards, and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage, and telecommunications systems.
  • May need to obtain entry-level technical certification(s) at the client’s request for emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

Technical Design & Consulting:

  • Sufficient proficiency in the following suite of technologies to hold conversations with experts, identify actions in meetings, and articulate meaningful updates to clients using the appropriate technical terminology:
  • Voice and Data Networks
  • Building Automation
  • Audio Visual system and Sound Masking
  • CCTV and Access Control systems
  • Medical and Lab equipment
  • Manufacturing equipment
  • Proficient in preparing designs for technology systems, including voice, data, structured cabling (horizontal and vertical for both ISP and OSP), and other low-voltage systems.
  • Coordinate system scope, design layout, and drawings with the client and other disciplines.
  • Perform site visits for documentation of existing systems and buildings conditions.
  • Effective communication skills with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Perform telecommunications, IT, and low voltage systems analysis and develop appropriate system concepts, layouts, and details.
  • Document construction drawings with design concepts suitable for plan check, bidding, and construction.
  • Oversee projects from inception through final transition working with senior management, clients, and subcontractors ensuring full control over the schedule, cost, and scope.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex design problems.
  • Prepare technical specifications for division 27 using CSI formatting.
  • Review and evaluate shop drawings and product submittals. Expert in responding to RFIs throughout the project life cycle using tools like Procore, E-builder, or others.
  • Visit construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed, and prepare detailed findings reports with remediations recommendations.
  • Responsible for research on modern technical concepts and methodologies to present to clients and mentor teams.
  • Responsible for interpreting technical language into business-level/user-level terminology to streamline communication.
