This position is designed to assist in maintaining smooth IT functions while allowing the IT lead to focus on high-priority infrastructure projects, ongoing network migration, and alignment with Accor compliance standards. Specific Responsibilities: Provide first-level support for basic IT issues, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity problems. Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. Monitoring system performance and identifying potential issues to ensure optimal functionality. Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure throughout the hotel, including cabling and equipment setup. Other Responsibilities: Creating training materials and documentation for end-users on various IT topics. Maintaining accurate records of hardware and software inventory, network configurations, and other relevant information. Providing administrative support to the IT team, such as preparing, managing emails, and handling help desk tickets. Researching new technologies and potential solutions to address technical challenges. Qualifications Minimum Matric (Grade 12) Enrolled in or recently graduated from a IT qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Technical Qualifications in Information Technology. Sound understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts Ability to analyse and troubleshoot technical issues effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, end-users and guests Ability to manage tasks, prioritise work, and maintain accurate records. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others. The IT field is constantly evolving, so interns need to be able to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly. Important for accuracy and quality in technical work. May be needed for interacting with users. Prior internship experience (advantage)
