Description The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Installation of PC hardware and maintains inventory of PC hardware. Maintenance of computer hardware and local networks. Installs, configures, manages, and trains on software. Troubleshoots to identify and resolve computer and network issues. Cabling for new computer systems. Maintaining documentation for citywide systems. Provide helpdesk support for computer and network issues. Tests and evaluates new technology. Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent; previous experience as help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support; Associate’s degree in IT preferred; in-depth knowledge of internet security and data privacy principals; verbal and written communication skills; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Kentucky driver’s license.
Responsibilities
This role involves the installation and maintenance of PC hardware, including managing inventory and performing local network upkeep. Responsibilities also include installing, configuring, managing software, and providing helpdesk support for computer and network issues.
