Description

Lead the technology that keeps a fleet moving.

Wettenhalls is looking for a Head of Information Technology who can move comfortably between the server room and the strategy table. One day you will be rolling up your sleeves to solve a system issue on the ground, the next you will be advising on future direction and managing the risks that come with a growing, fast-paced operation. This role needs a genuine ground leader - someone with the technical depth to earn trust on the floor and the commercial judgement to guide where the business is headed.

You will bring both practical, hands-on IT expertise and the strategic capability to shape technology direction, manage risk, and support the business as it grows.

What you will be doing

• Setting the IT strategy and acting as a trusted technology advisor to our Executive Leadership Team.

•Owning cybersecurity, risk and governance - protecting the systems and data our operations rely on.

• Leading, mentoring and growing a high-performing IT team.

• Overseeing infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms and the mission-critical systems behind our transport operations (think telematics, fleet and scheduling platforms).

• Managing vendor and managed service relationships, negotiating SLAs and holding providers to account.

• Driving innovation - spearheading practical AI, automation and digital transformation initiatives that deliver real business value.

• Championing data governance and enabling smarter, data-driven decision-making across the business.

• Partnering with Operations, Safety, Finance and Projects to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions on the ground.

What you will bring

• 10+ years of experience in a senior IT leadership role.

• Proven ability to move between hands-on, operational IT work and strategic planning - equally comfortable troubleshooting a system issue and advising on future direction.

• Strong grounding in cybersecurity frameworks and risk management.

• Hands-on experience managing complex IT infrastructure and cloud environments.

• A track record of influencing and advising executive-level stakeholders.

• Experience managing external vendors and service providers.

• Comfort operating in governance, compliance and audit environments.

• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Experience in transport, logistics or another operational industry is a strong advantage.

Why join us

• Real influence over strategy, working closely with our Executive Leadership Team.

• The chance to lead AI and digital innovation in an industry ready for it.

• A permanent, on-site role based at Altona or Geelong - be part of a close-knit, high-performing team.

  • • A business that values teamwork, innovation and integrity in everything it does.
