JOB DESCRIPTIONIT MANAGER

Location: Kalamazoo, MI (Onsite - 1 day remote)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: $80,000-$100,000 (+bonus)
We are seeking a forward-thinking IT Manager to lead our transition from a primarily on-premises network to a modern, cloud-centered infrastructure. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise, guiding our infrastructure vision while ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with enterprise networking, server environments, and security systems, especially Juniper networking gear, Ruckus wireless infrastructure, and Palo Alto firewalls, and will be prepared to grow and mentor a high-performing IT infrastructure team.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE OF THE IT MANAGER:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or systems administration.
• Strong working knowledge of Juniper networking equipment, Ruckus wireless networks, and Palo Alto firewall management/configuration.
• Proven hands-on switch management experience.
• Experience with Palo Alto Panorama for centralized firewall management.
• Solid understanding of network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
• Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V), and monitoring tools.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and communicate solutions effectively.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading technical teams (formal management experience a plus).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IT MANAGER:

• Industry certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, PCNSE, CWNA, or equivalent.
• Experience with Azure networking, SD-WAN, and modern enterprise Wi-Fi deployments.
• Familiarity with environments emphasizing uptime, security, and high customer service standards.
