QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
· Minimum 5 years of related professional experience with time spent in a supervisory or managerial role.
· Proven track record of leading successful IT projects from conception to implementation.
· Strong technical knowledge of networking, server infrastructure, cloud platforms, database architecture, and business systems.
· Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and risk management.
· Proficiency in developing and delivering training content to non-technical users.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving, with a strong attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Expert with the Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
· Experience with Yardi Voyager software is considered an asset, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
ROLE SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The IT Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the company’s information technology (IT) infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of existing systems while overseeing the implementation of new technologies that support business goals. The IT Manager provides ongoing technical support, strategic guidance, and staff training to ensure that employees can effectively use the tools and systems in place. Acting as both a hands-on technician and a strategic partner, the IT Manager plays a critical role in maintaining seamless IT operations and enabling company growth through technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Systems implementation and optimization
· Work alongside business leaders to evaluate existing systems/ processes and develop strategies to enhance efficiency across the company.
· Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery.
· Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT projects and system integrations.
· Lead initiatives for process automation, such as scripting repetitive tasks or integrating systems.
· Continuously analyze system performance, bottlenecks, and user feedback to drive optimization.
Systems management
· Ensure reliable operation of all hardware, software, networks, and systems.
· Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime.
· Act as an internal helpdesk for escalated IT issues.
· Manage cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure, ensuring scalability and security.
· Manage physical IT devices, ensuring they are up to date, configured correctly, and replaced once past their useful lives.
Security and compliance
· Maintain and enforce IT security policies, risk management protocols, and data privacy regulations.
· Ensure systems and processes are compliant with relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
· Coordinate with 3rd party providers to ensure safeguards and security protocols are in place and being followed across the company.
· Manage the company’s data backup and recovery plans.
IT training
· Coordinate and develop training curriculum with the goal of elevating IT proficiency across the company.
· Deliver standardized IT and systems training (Yardi, MS, Site Max, etc.) to various stakeholders.
· Develop user guides, documentation, and knowledge bases tailored to various skill levels within the organization.
Supervision of Systems Manager
· Oversee the Systems Manager who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the ERP system and as a front-line help desk.
· Ongoing coaching and support to aid in their career development and role-specific competence.
