As we prepare to launch groundbreaking space projects, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and security of our technology infrastructure for our internal teams, as well as supporting fast-paced innovation and mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage an IT Team, resources, vendor relationships, and technology deployments to ensure reliable, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management, preferably within tech startups, aerospace, or engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cybersecurity best practices, and systems administration.
  • Proven experience managing IT teams and leading technology projects end-to-end.
  • Familiarity with aerospace or defense compliance standards (e.g., ITAR, NIST, ISO 27001) is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure tools, virtualization, endpoint management, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for space technology and innovation, with a proactive and adaptable mindset.

NICE-TO-HAVE - PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, or cloud provider certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, etc.).
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Background in managing IT for hardware engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Prior involvement in securing and managing sensitive or classified data environments.
  • Prior involvement in configuration management in sensitive data environments.
  • Passion for emerging technologies such as AI/ML, edge computing, or blockchain as they relate to space tech.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As an IT Manager, you will be a key player in managing our technology infrastructure and sourcing strategies for critical IT systems that support our internal IT needs, satellite platforms and space missions. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, human resources, finance, and product teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable IT solutions that drive our development roadmap and mission success. This position reports directly to the Director of IT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team to deliver reliable and innovative technology solutions supporting space mission objectives.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructure, including cloud environments, to support all organizational and operational needs.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, security protocols, and compliance measures aligned with aerospace industry standards.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources Team to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated onboarding experience. Owns the IT segment of New Consultant Onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition and efficient integration process into the organization. Includes setting up user accounts, granting network access, issuing user IDs and equipment, end-user’s systems terminations, as needed and providing on-going support and guidance for consultants. Manage IT procurement and vendor relationships to source cutting-edge hardware, software, and services cost-effectively.
  • Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management of all IT hardware, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, licenses and specialized devices used in space technology development.
  • Implement and monitor robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data, intellectual property, and mission-critical systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee system monitoring, maintenance, and incident response to ensure maximum uptime and data integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and operations teams to align IT capabilities with mission-critical projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in IT processes, automation, and documentation to support fast-paced innovation.
  • Plan and execute technology upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery strategies with minimal disruption.
  • Manage IT budgets and resource allocation to optimize costs while enabling growth.
  • Provide technical support, training, and guidance to all staff members.
  • Ensures all IT processes are in alignment with the company’s Code of Conduct, policies, and security protocols and compliant with all local, state, federal laws.
