Description
Company Description XP Power is a leading power designer and manufacturer of electronic power conversion products. We serve a wide variety of business in the Industrial, Healthcare, Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing and Technology markets. We have presence in over 40 countries within the North America, Europe and Asia region. The Company is listed on the London Stock Exchange. This is an exciting time to be joining us as we continue to grow sustainably and profitably, working towards our vision to become the first choice power solutions provider delivering the ultimate experience for our customers. We are committed to our culture that values Customer Focus, Flexibility, Knowledge, Speed and Integrity. Job Description Lead the end-to-end set-up of IT infrastructure at the new Malaysia manufacturing plant – including network, servers, end-user compute, printing and meeting-room technology – ensuring alignment with XP Power’s global IT standards. Deploy, configure and support the technology stack for the site, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory and Intune – onboarding new employees and managing identity, access and device compliance. Partner with the global SAP team on the S/4HANA roll-out and day-to-day operation at site, acting as the local IT point of contact for shop-floor integration and manufacturing technology issues. Provide hands-on support for manufacturing IT assets including automated test equipment, label printers, handheld/PDA scanners and other shop-floor devices, minimising downtime and protecting production output. Act as the first responder for all IT issues during the plant’s start-up phase – troubleshooting hardware and software, provisioning users, configuring networks and escalating to global IT where appropriate. Implement and maintain IT security, data protection and compliance controls in line with corporate policy, covering endpoint security, user access management, backups and disaster recovery. Manage local IT vendors, telecommunications providers and managed service partners, owning the site IT budget, capital plan and asset lifecycle. Recruit, develop and lead the local IT team as the site grows – building a sustainable support capability and establishing processes that scale with the plant. Qualifications Proven hands-on experience administering the Microsoft stack (Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, Windows Server and networking fundamentals) in a business-critical environment; exposure to SAP S/4HANA support is beneficial. Direct experience of IT in a manufacturing or industrial setting – including shop-floor device support (automated test systems, label printers, barcode/PDA scanners) and a practical understanding of OT/IT integration. A track record of operating effectively as a standalone IT lead while planning for growth, with demonstrable experience recruiting, developing and managing a local IT team. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with fluent English, comfortable representing site IT to both plant leadership and global stakeholders. Experience of building a high functioning IT team, and managing service delivery levels to identify opportunities to improve performance or service offerings. Awareness of Cyber Security best practice, and ability to review and investigate security alerts through to resolution. Additional Information We are establishing a new manufacturing plant in Malaysia and are seeking our first on-site IT Manager to lead the technology set-up, deliver day-to-day support and build the local IT function as the site scales. In the early months this is a deeply hands-on role – you will be the person standing up the network, configuring laptops, onboarding users onto our Microsoft 365 tenant alongside global IT, and getting the S/4HANA-connected shop-floor tooling working reliably. As the plant ramps up, the focus will shift toward team building, service management and longer-term IT strategy for the site. You will report into global/regional IT, working in close partnership with the Malaysia Plant Manager and functional leaders on site. Department: Business Systems
