JOB SUMMARY:

CompuTech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures while providing advanced technical support and ensuring high availability and security for our managed IT services clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise, a strong problem-solving mindset, and a positive and collaborative attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in network administration and IT support.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience and understanding of the MSP business model preferred.
  • Relevant Education: Associates or bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Networking, Information Security, or related field is desired. CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ also desired.
  • Customer Focus: Strong ability to build and nurture relationships, with a client-centric approach to solving problems and providing solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple client networks, projects, and tasks simultaneously.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with additional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation:

  • Architect, configure, and optimize complex network systems, including LAN, WAN, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Implement and manage routing, switching, redundancy, VLANs, and firewall technologies (Aruba, SonicWall, Eaton).
  • Configure and maintain VLANs and network segmentation to support secure, scalable environments.
  • Plan and execute off-hours firmware upgrades and production system migrations.

Systems Engineering:

  • Design, deploy, and manage server and storage solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Administer both physical and virtual servers, managing configurations, backups, and updates. (Dell, HP, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • Create and maintain Active Directory users, security groups, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Oversee SAN (Storage Area Network) management, including storage provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer hardware, troubleshooting, tools and repair (NSLookup, Ping, Tracert, IPconfig, ARP).

Security Management:

  • Develop and enforce security policies and protocols to safeguard network infrastructure and sensitive data (VPN, RMM, etc.)
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and threats using advanced tools and methodologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles (IDS/IPS).

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Use network and system monitoring tools to analyze performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure network and server efficiency and reliability.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, server setups, Active Directory, and SAN configurations.
  • Generate detailed reports on system performance, security audits, and compliance.

Project Management and Collaboration:

  • Manage technical projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve existing systems.
