JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Technician to assist with multiple network infrastructure projects. This is a contract opportunity ideal for a hands-on technician with strong practical knowledge of network hardware, structured cabling, and equipment installation.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or with minimal supervision in the field.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven hands-on experience with network cabling, terminations, and installations
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet, IP addressing, and general networking concepts
  • Experience installing and organizing network racks and cable pathways
  • Familiarity with configuring and deploying POS systems and related peripherals
  • Ability to read blueprints and network diagrams is a plus
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must own standard technician tools including (but not limited to):

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in field installations or network infrastructure
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, BICSI, or equivalent are a plus
    Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Freelance
    Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, and test network cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, etc.)
  • Mount and organize network racks and patch panels
  • Connect and configure networking devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points
  • Setup and troubleshoot POS (Point of Sale) systems
  • Label and document cabling and equipment layouts
  • Maintain site cleanliness and follow best practices for cable management
  • Provide on-site support and basic troubleshooting for network connectivity issues
  • Coordinate with project managers or lead technicians as needed
