Job Description About the Role We are looking for experienced Network Engineers (f/m) to take ownership of our networking services and play a key role in designing, building and operating modern, secure infrastructure environments. You will join a small, cross-functional team of highly skilled Application, Storage, Compute and Cloud Engineers. Together, you will design and implement secure, segregated infrastructure zones across multiple international locations, ensuring high availability, resilience and performance. This role offers genuine end-to-end influence - from understanding business requirements through to solution design, implementation and ongoing service management. Your Main Objective To own and manage networking services across our GSC–NSC IT Infrastructure landscape, supporting approximately 4,000 end users across more than 30 global sites. Your Role You will support and deliver strategic infrastructure initiatives, including: Executing network segregation programmes, Designing and implementing virtual and physical security zones, Supporting the segregation of application environments (Application Availability Groups), Designing and creating newly defined segregated infrastructure zones, Supporting application migrations into new secure zones. Key Responsibilities Design, implement and manage modern networking solutions (private, public and hybrid cloud), Manage WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN and load balancer services, Act as the networking specialist within the defined IT service scope, Ensure high availability and performance of critical applications, Identify opportunities to innovate and enhance service delivery, Improve processes through automation and sustainable solutions, Produce high-quality documentation (Low-Level Designs, policies, procedures), Work closely with Cloud, Compute, Security and C&S teams to ensure alignment and governance, Ensure services comply with internal policies, standards and agreed SLAs. Qualifications We are looking for a Network Engineer (f/m) with at least five years’ solid experience in enterprise networking. Most importantly, you bring strong hands-on expertise in firewalls (FortiGate or Check Point), switching technologies (Cisco, Fortinet or other vendors) and wireless/Wi-Fi solutions. You should also have proven experience in network infrastructure design and transitions, SD-WAN, data centre networking and complex network migrations, as well as practical experience in network component maintenance (including upgrades) and switch stacking. Experience with ticketing tools (preferably ServiceNow) and the ability to read, understand and produce clear technical documentation are essential. We are looking for a collaborative team player who can work effectively in cross-functional environments and is willing to travel internationally when required. It would be advantageous if you hold CCNP-level certification and can demonstrate experience in LAN/WAN/SD-WAN design and implementation at enterprise scale, particularly during acquisitions and transformation programmes. Familiarity with protocols such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, HTTP and BGP, as well as knowledge of VeloCloud, VoIP, QoS, network monitoring, load balancing, VPN and cloud networking (Azure and AWS) will be considered a strong advantage.
