The Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) Amberg-Weiden is seeking to fill a full-time position (40 hours/week) in the computer center, Amberg branch, as soon as possible.

IT Network Engineer / Network Administrator (m/f/d)

to be filled on a temporary basis.

Areas of responsibility:

• Support and further development of the network infrastructure (LAN/WLAN) of both university locations and other branch offices - planning/design, installation, assembly
• Support of passive and active components
• Network management
• Support/Service
• Connection to the German Research Network and other providers
• Setup and commissioning of a NAC system
• Support of Linux-based servers
• Support of various server applications

Requirements:

• Relevant university degree in computer science
• Excellent knowledge of network technology and network security
• Experience in operating corporate networks
• Experience with Extreme Networks products is desirable.
• Experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems
• Sense of responsibility and independent working style
• High level of commitment and flexibility in daily work, teamwork skills
• Good English skills, good German skills (spoken and written)

The employment relationship is governed by the provisions of the collective agreement for the public service of the German states (TV-L) and, depending on qualifications, will be remunerated up to a maximum of pay grade E10. The position is initially limited until October 31, 2029.
