IT/Operations Assistant Position Summary Lapmaster International is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist with daily business operations and administrative tasks. This is an entry-level, trainable position ideal for someone who is eager to learn, grow, and gain exposure to multiple areas of a business including operations, marketing, IT systems, and logistics. You will work closely to help keep projects organized, support team communication, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently. Key Responsibilities Operations Support Assist with daily operational tasks across multiple locations Help organize and prepare picking tickets and basic documentation Support communication between departments (sales, shipping, purchasing, accounting) Assist with tracking basic performance metrics and reports Marketing Support Assist with updating website content and product information Help with email campaigns and marketing materials Support social media updates (LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) Assist in tracking leads and marketing activity Help prepare materials for trade shows and events Administrative Support Assist with general administrative tasks and organization Help manage shared email inboxes and respond to basic inquiries Support report creation and data entry Assist with documentation, presentations, and internal materials IT & Systems Support (Expanded – (Training Provided) Assist with basic IT troubleshooting (computers, printers, phones) Help set up and maintain user accounts, devices, and software Support internal systems such as ERP (Elliott), CRM (Salesforce), and databases Assist with data entry, reporting, and basic system updates Help coordinate with external IT vendors for support and projects Learn basic networking, system maintenance, and backup processes Assist with shipping software systems (UPS, FedEx, Starship) Support documentation of IT processes and system organization Shipping & Logistics Support Assist with preparing shipments (UPS, FedEx, freight) Help with labeling, documentation, and tracking shipments Support basic warehouse and inventory tasks as needed Purchasing & Office Support Assist with ordering office and shipping supplies Help track inventory of common supplies Support general office organization and needs Compliance & Safety Support Assist with maintaining documentation (SDS, safety records) Support basic compliance and organizational processes Qualifications High school diploma or associate degree (Bachelor’s a plus but not required) Strong interest in learning IT systems and business operations Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, internet) Familiarity with computers, software, or troubleshooting is a plus Strong attention to detail and organization Good communication skills and willingness to learn Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Company Description: Lapmaster International, LLC is a leading international precision machine tool builder headquartered in Chicago’s Northwest suburbs near O’Hare Airport.
