Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an IT SACM (Service Asset and Configuration Management) Operations Lead to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role, based in Soilhull.
Our client is seeking an experienced IT SACM Operations Lead to spearhead the development of the SACM function, including Hardware Asset Management and Software Asset Management across UK & Europe (25,000 staff with 16,000 Laptops/Desktops/Tablets/Mobiles, 500+ locations) to meet the needs and expectations of their expanding business, through growth, diversification and acquisition.
The role involves planning, managing and maturing a new IT Asset Management and SACM capability for the digital and technology estate, including the design, delivery and operation of both standard and non-standard IT asset management services.
The role holder will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective processes and practices that ensure the accurate and up-to-date configuration of all assets and services, enabling efficient and reliable service delivery. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to contribute to the overall success of our IT Service Management (ITSM) initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a SACM strategy aligned with organisational objectives
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into SACM processes
- Lead and mentor a team of SACM professionals, providing guidance and support
- Work closely with the procurement and commercial teams to optimise spend and reduce wastage
- Design, implement and continuously improve SACM processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Identify and address process bottlenecks to enhance overall service delivery
- Oversee the identification, control and status accounting of configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle
- Conduct regular audits of the CMDB to verify the accuracy of configuration data
- Develop and maintain relevant metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for SACM
