Description:
RedMatter Solutions is seeking a skilled Operations Manager to support a government client. The Operations Manager will administer and provide overall support and maintenance of applications, operating systems, and network connectivity. This role involves evaluating system performance daily to ensure adequate response times for production applications, establishing and documenting procedures to maintain data integrity, and managing system failover and backup/recovery processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring, configuring, and maintaining servers for development work, internal and customer testing, and production environments.
  • Maintaining software updates, designing and implementing new system structures, and tracking/monitoring server usage and uptime.

The Operations Manager will also:

  • Administer, design, implement, support, and maintain operations for an organization’s IT systems, applications, network components, and VMware infrastructure.
  • Oversee performance tuning and monitor server systems’ performance, including uptime, failover, antivirus, and anti-spam protections.
  • Plan, implement, administer, and optimize company servers and network infrastructure to ensure high performance of supported business applications.
  • Set up and maintain fault tolerances and manage accounts.
  • Set up environments and systems (public and/or private cloud), based on workload needs, and deploy them in an automated fashion.
  • Monitor, manage, and adjust systems according to a prescribed methodology.Establish and implement cloud operation standards according to specifications and parameters.
  • Support a multi-disciplinary IT environment across various platforms and technologies.
  • May manage a team or an enterprise-level operations team.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience supporting Information Technology as an Operations Manager.Proven experience in management, leadership, coordination, and customer engagement for maintaining and operating large-scale, highly available systems integrated with business-critical systems.
  • Experience supervising IT operations across diverse environments, including systems integration, deployment, and training, with employees of varied job categories and skill levels.
  • Strong technical understanding of Information Technology, Identity and Access Management, and AWS GovCloud systems and services.
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification is mandatory.Project management proficiency using ITIL methodologies.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is mandatory.
  • Experience managing agile development teams, with an understanding of how enhancements, defects, or requests impact application architecture.
  • Must have and maintain a Non-Sensitive / High Risk (Public Trust) Tier 4/6c security clearance.
  • Expert knowledge of recent technological advances in computer science and engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior government officials.
  • Demonstrates experience in successfully executing, monitoring, and managing projects to high-quality, on-budget completion.
  • Proven ability to interact with internal service delivery teams, client teams, external providers, and subcontractors to understand the operational environment, interpret contract requirements, develop and gain approval for scope, schedule, cost, and quality plans, and implement technical solutions.
