SUMMARY

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at Tamarack Valley Energy. This will be a full time contract position. You’ll be the cornerstone of our digital infrastructure—supporting employees, applications, and systems to keep everything running smoothly and securely.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or operations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Windows infrastructure
  • Experience with oil and gas applications is a major asset
  • Familiarity with device management, backup platforms, and cybersecurity tools
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Bonus: Experience with scripting (PowerShell), SQL queries, or IT certifications (e.g., MS-900, AZ-104)
  • Bonus: Experience with single sign-on (SSO) integration with third-party applications
Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line IT support for technical issues, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Support and maintain key oil and gas applications such as: ProdMan – Production management, MuddyBoots – Field data capture, Pandell JV – Joint venture accounting, GeoScout – Geological and land data analysis, SeisWare – Seismic interpretation, ValNav (ValueNavigator) – Reserves evaluation and forecasting.
  • Administer and manage IT systems across a broad technology stack: Hyper-V virtualization environments, Windows Server 2016 through 2025, Windows 10 and 11 desktop environments, Microsoft Intune for endpoint and device management, NinjaOne for remote monitoring and support, SharePoint for collaboration and document management, OneDrive for cloud storage and file sharing.
  • Configure and support enterprise platforms such as: Microsoft Defender for cybersecurity, Exchange Online for corporate communications, Datto Backupify for cloud data recovery, Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) considered an asset.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding, including user provisioning and application access
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure optimal performance of field and office technology
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of systems and procedures
  • Participate in projects related to system upgrades, cybersecurity, and automation
  • Work collaboratively on project work, including but not limited to: Digital Transformation of aging on-prem environment , Evaluation of cloud migration, Migration from VMware to Hyper-V.
