PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The PC Support Specialist Iposition is responsible forinstalling personal computer hardware, software and networking equipment, diagnosing personal computers problems, answering user questions related to personal computers and coordinating repair services.

EDUCATION:

High school graduate with two additionalyears of P.C.support experience, but an associate degree in information systems preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 2 yearsdirectly relatedexperience. A good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, Microsoft Windows Operating System, and basic networking principles.
Physical: Lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Other: Periodictravel to GPEC branch locations in all states. Some overnight travel is required.
Valid driverslicense.

Responsibilities
  • Provideexcellent Customer Service to all Gregory Poole Associates, Customers, and outside Partners.
  • Installs personal computer hardware, softwareand networking equipment by following established industry and departmental practices and procedures.
  • Test and debug personal computer hardware, softwareand networking problems by utilizingproblem determination and resolution skills and following established departmental guidelines.
  • Develop and maintaindocumentation related to personal computer hardware, softwareand networking equipment by following established departmental procedures.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair services by understanding individual user needs and working with vendor maintenance personnel.
  • Assistusers in efficient and effective use of personal computer technology by understanding their requirements and the capabilities and limitations of the technology.
  • Answer user questions on personal computer software, hardwareand networking equipment by understanding the user’s situation and being knowledgeable of the capabilities of the technology.
  • Keep abreast of new technologyand business methodologies available from vendors by attending seminars, reviewing trade periodicalsand talking with peers in GPEC and other companies that can affect the operation of the company’s information systems.
  • Track and report time, status and related issues on projects and other activities using establishedIT Help Desk ticketing system.
  • Specific job objectivesand performance goals for an individual are developed yearly by the Associate and the department manager and become part of the requirements for the position.
