Description
1.      Evaluates user’s needs and requests for information systems relative to current systems and available technologies and applications. 2.      Evaluates processes as requested and recommends re-engineering around utilization of computerized applications to maximize departmental and organizational efficiency and effectiveness 3.      Participates in training offered on assigned applications, develops expert understanding of application functionality 4.      Serve as liaison with user departments in resolving system/application issues 5.      Evaluates problem situations in depth, arrives at independent conclusions and coordinates problem resolution for issues related to information systems use and implementation within the department, among departments and disciplines, with medical staff and outside vendors. 6.      Assists in the development of testing scenarios to assure the functionality and integrity of system enhancements and upgrades. 7.      Provides ongoing analysis, maintenance and technical and functional support for information systems throughout the organization.  Identify system deficiencies and analyze system problems and solutions.  Independently comes to conclusions and implements corrective action. 8.      Maintain Pharmacy EHR System:  formulary updates, new drug builds, forms, route, frequency, uom dictionary, multum data, drug security rights, item catalog 9.      General configurations:  orders and order sets, order availability policies, order forms and task forms 10.  Participates in routine System software migration and upgrade processes. 11.  Assists with development of downtime procedures for computerized applications and evaluates effectiveness to assure the hospital remains functional during times when the applications are not available for use. 12.  Remains abreast of new developments in the area of healthcare, healthcare information systems and staff education by participating in continuing education programs/conferences and by review of the literature and periodicals.   14.  Attend and represent IT at multiple workgroups to assist and better understand institutional requirements. a.      Medication Safety Committee b.      P&T Committee c.       Antimicrobial Stewardship d.      Others. 15.  Work with other IT specialists to coordinate system changes as they might affect Pharmacy applications 16.  Monitor and maintain and assist pharmacy personnel with bar code scanning (KBMA) 17.  Monitor and maintain and assist pharmacy personnel with ePrescribing 1. Analyze new functionality in new releases to identify impact. 1. Support the training team by keeping trainers abreast of new functionality and system changes. 1. Perform application(s) training, maintenance, updates and/or all other system functions  as assigned (i.e., Soft Scripts, OPUS, SPSS, Net Smart, Smart Pumps, Avatar) Qualifications 1. Education Required * Clinical background highly preferred 1. Certification(s) Required: Epic Willow and Epic Beacon 2. Experience/Skills Required * Active and progressive experience in a healthcare environment that has provided knowledge of complex hospital operations * Prior experience in health care information systems including system installations/upgrades, analysis and support of financial or clinical/ancillary systems * Project management experience in the field of healthcare and/or information systems * Excellent verbal and written communication skills
