Description
Responsibilities
Day-to-day user support for a multitude of applications from different vendors used by the business, many with PLM specific functions. Vendors include (but are not limited to) Siemens, with current applications utilised including Teamcenter, Polarion, NX, Rapid Author and Catia.
Take ownership of application related support incidents and resolve them in a timely fashion to ensure the maximum levels of productivity and efficiency are attained.
Escalate to and work with application vendors and support providers to resolve issues where the IT service are unable to do this internally.
Support application configurations
Support the maintenance of the applications through regular system management and upgrades (as required).
Ensure licenses are kept up to date and consumption is monitored.
Support the PLM Applications Support Team in the deployment of new versions of software to end users in conjunction with Operations and Service Delivery teams.
Work to find application rationalisations & savings where applicable
Provide user training and materials where applicable.
Proactively identify upcoming issues related to applications and work with Operations, Infrastructure and Service Delivery teams to resolve them.
Have an awareness of cyber security best practice and ensure applications are maintained with this in mind at all times.
Support the PLM Applications Support Team to manage and maintain application interfaces, exports and imports, and ensure their smooth running where required.
Translate complex business requirements into application solutions with the support of technical colleagues, external providers and business stakeholders.
Assist the IT Management team to ensure IT best practice and business policies are followed by the business.
Drive and execute technical activities related to the corporate Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, including designing, developing, maintaining, and documenting the system and related tools.
Configure the PLM tool effectively, leveraging its capabilities to meet business needs and enhance productivity.
Optimize PLM systems and implement customizations and extensions using coding techniques where necessary.
Work with cross-functional internal and external teams taking ownership of the integrations with the PLM platform ensuring seamless connectivity and data flow between the PLM system and other relevant tools.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to analyse business requirements and translate them into technological solutions and improvements within the PLM system.
Act as a proactive and collaborative teammate, actively engaging with cross-functional teams, sharing knowledge and best practices, and providing technical guidance and support as required.
Follow up and foster the adoption of the platform by supporting the internal customers, including writing usage guides, and organizing training
Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in PLM and related domains, and proactively identify opportunities for system enhancements.
Support the documentation of the PLM systems within the Enterprise Architecture Management system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information regarding system architecture, integrations, and dependencies, and support coordinating the assessment and the integration of any tools and services in the Applications Landscape with the PLM system and solutions.
Contribute to the IT Service Catalogue
Work within the ITIL aligned IT management framework as lead by the Head of IT
Own additional IT Processes as identified/required.
