SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies (for example, PMI and Agile) with experience involving the planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a matrixed environment and interact with all levels of leadership
  • Demonstrated proficiency using project management/project planning tools (i.e. MS Project, Planview, JIRA)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and advanced skills in Excel and Visio

Minimum Years of Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (required) - Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field and 5 years of related experience or 8 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of IT experience in a Healthcare environment, Business Analyst experience (preferred)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in project coordination and portfolio administration (required)
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience with project scope definition, resource estimating, and budgeting. (required)
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The IT Portfolio Coordinator is responsible for supporting IT projects by facilitating the portfolio intake process. The role gathers estimates, scope, and budget, overall pulls together the estimate for the project, and provides insights to aid in the planning and scheduling of initiatives within the IT portfolio. They work with business customers, IT technical resources, and leadership throughout the portfolio discovery lifecycle phases of a project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the project portfolio intake processes to ensure that project requests submitted align with the standards for moving through the work pipeline.
  • Lead portfolio coordination aspects to collect the following: scope, labor estimates, potential risks, budget estimates, resource capacity planning, and estimated timelines to complete the initiative before transitioning to the Project Management Delivery Team.
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional meetings to solicit portfolio discovery deliverables and provide timely status updates on progress and targeted completion dates for projects assigned.
  • Demonstrate commitment to their project through accountability and leadership while demonstrating a desire and approach to remove roadblocks, resolve issues, and mitigate risks with portfolio assignments.
  • Develop and foster working relationships with team members, I&T, Business Sponsors, Relationship Managers, Vendors, and other project stakeholders while effectively influencing others toward a common goal.
  • Utilize project management toolsets and processes as well as provide accurate status updates to leaders and key stakeholders on initiative progress.
