Description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world - together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?
Looking for a Technical Product Designer to be part of Manufacturing Digital Engineering IT team. This individual will identify and implement IT solutions that would digitize and automate said business processes to bring enhanced transparency and visibility to Ford’s extended, multi-tiers supply chain, and enable Ford to meet legal and mandatory requirements in the supply chain sustainability space.
The ideal candidate would be a seasoned software engineer who wants to move into a technical leadership role where instead of implementing requirements, you lead the development of requirements and work with others for implementation and delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with business and technical SMEs to define new capabilities and use-cases that meet requirements in the Manufacturing Technology space. Engage with the Product Owner and team to define product strategy and roadmap for implementation. Collaborate with internal and external technical peers (Product Managers, Enterprise Architects, Software Engineers, Security Controls Champions, and Vendors). Develop relationships and maintain a knowledge of the Ford Production System and processes.
  • Product Design, Implementation and Delivery: Lead development of requirements, features, use cases, and test scenarios, in alignment with different stakeholders. Author process flow and design documents. Work closely with Product Managers and Enterprise Architects to review datasets in source applications and systems within Ford and map functional requirements to data attributes. Working closely with vendors and partners, design and create actionable software development and enterprise integration activities to move from solution design to implementation including solution development, integration, testing and deployment. Generate Metrics, Build Deployment Pipelines and Perform System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing. Participate and/or lead incident, change and service request related activities including root cause analysis and proactive problem management / defect prevention activities.
  • Communication: Clearly communicate vision and strategy to cross functional teams, senior leaders, and stakeholders to gain alignment. Grow subject matter expertise, provide guidance to other team members.
  • Live and breathe Agile: Participate in ceremonies that help define the work to be done, improve team process, and align the team to specific objectives. For instance, participate in Daily Standups, Story Creation and Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives, and Epics/Sub-Epics/Story Acceptance sessions. Ensure effective usage of Jira and derive meaningful insights from Jira like Velocity, Throughput etc. to enable the team to go further. Partner with Product Owners / Managers and develop and as required execute test scenarios at various levels (functional, user acceptance) within Agile Framework.
