Description
Weiss Asset Management, a Boston based investment firm, is seeking an experienced IT Program Manager to lead complex infrastructure and technology initiatives across the firm. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving execution of multi-disciplinary IT projects including office buildouts, data center launches, global networking, vendor implementations, and internal technology initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline with the ability to understand technical dependencies, frame tradeoffs clearly, and drive accountability across teams. In Office Expectations: 3-4 days per week Key Responsibilities: Program & Project Leadership Lead end-to-end execution of infrastructure and IT initiatives (office expansions, data centers, networking, systems rollouts). Develop clear project charters, milestones, risk assessments, and success criteria. Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (Technology, Software, Operations, Finance, Legal, external vendors). Translate technical constraints and risks into actionable plans and executive-level summaries. Run structured sprint planning, daily standups, stakeholder meetings, and executive updates. Partner with engineers to clarify requirements and define realistic timelines. Drive structured documentation in Jira/Confluence (or equivalent platforms). Ensure projects move beyond logistics into technically grounded execution. Operational Excellence Develop standardized project templates and reporting dashboards. Improve documentation, onboarding/offboarding processes, and internal IT workflows. Track metrics (throughput, completion rates, resource allocation) to drive continuous improvement. Reduce key-person risk through process discipline and transparency. Vendor & Contract Management Own lifecycle management of IT vendors (invoicing, contracts, renewals, performance tracking). Coordinate with Legal and Finance to ensure compliance and cost control. Assist in sourcing and vetting new vendors and service providers. Team Coordination & Mentorship Facilitate collaboration between Help Desk, IT Systems, and Cybersecurity functions. Help junior team members structure projects and articulate milestones. Maintain a high-trust environment by promoting accountability and ownership. Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in IT project or program management. Experience leading infrastructure projects (office buildouts, networking, cloud, data centers). Strong familiarity with enterprise systems (cloud platforms, identity management, networking concepts). Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with third-party vendors and contracts. ScrumMaster, ITIL, or similar certifications a plus. What We're Looking For: Highly organized and detail-oriented. Comfortable asking technical questions and pushing for clarity. Able to balance stakeholder priorities with realistic execution plans. Willing to take ownership. Calm under pressure during high-impact initiatives, including coordinating responses during incidents or outages. Able to lead by demonstrating independent problem-solving. Base Salary: $170k - $235k per year, depending on experience. Actual offer will reflect your specific skills, years of relevant experience, and fit for the role. It is unlikely that all new hires will start at the top of this range.
