On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for an IT Project Control Officer, Budgeting/Cost Management for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

IT PROJECT CONTROL OFFICER, BUDGETING/COST MANAGEMENT - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The IT Project Control Officer, Budgeting/Cost Management is responsible for overseeing project performance, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards. The role involves tracking, controlling, and reporting on IT project initiatives, focusing heavily on resource cost management.

IT PROJECT CONTROL OFFICER, BUDGETING/COST MANAGEMENT - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 4-6 years PCO management skills with a strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles.
  • Risk management skills.
  • Basic understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Jira, Asana, and/or MS Project.

IT PROJECT CONTROL OFFICER, BUDGETING/COST MANAGEMENT – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as ISO 9001, ISO 20000, or ITIL.
  • Experience in resource cost management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Track project progress, identifying and reporting deviations from the project plan, budget, or schedule.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret project data to provide insights on project performance, trends, and potential issues.
  • Prepare and distribute regular project reports, including status updates, dashboards, and other stakeholder communications.
  • Assist in developing and managing project budgets, ensuring costs are accurately tracked and controlled.
  • Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, working with the project team to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards, addressing any quality issues promptly.
