IT PROJECT MANAGER II:

On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for an IT Project Manager II for a contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Edmonton office.

IT PROJECT MANAGER II - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The IT Project Manager II will provide multi-project support to project teams, focusing on technical excellence, cost management, and adherence to schedules and contractual requirements. This role involves supporting project setup and implementation for both maintenance and enhancement capital projects, ensuring compliance with corporate and client standards.

IT PROJECT MANAGER II - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or related Technology Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
  • 3 to 5 years of progressively detailed designs and/or project management experience
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office Suite
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Analytical thinker and strong problem-solving skills
  • Dependable self-starter

IT PROJECT MANAGER II – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • CAPM, PMP, CET/RET certification, P. Eng. designation or equivalent
  • Experience working in Alberta-based EPC (consulting) company
  • Background in Measurement, Leak Detection, SCADA or Industrial Controls
  • Capable of reading P&IDs
  • Knowledge of PMI processes
Responsibilities
  • Provide project support for executing projects between Canada & US, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and team members to understand project scope and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and client project standards and procedures
  • Work with engineering team memb0ers to ensure projects are on budget and schedule
  • Assist with project administrative activities as assigned by the Project Management Lead
  • Report project progress against budget and schedule
  • Coordinate delivery of purchased materials and ensure accuracy of purchase orders
  • Communicate with various parties to understand their perspectives and requirements
  • Assist with creating operating manuals and guidelines
  • Provide continuous review of project quality
  • Ensure project close-out and completion of project KPIs
  • Assist client account managers with business development duties as required
  • Organize and lead team and client meetings
  • Be available for off-hours contact during construction and commissioning phases
