PROJECT MANAGER The role As a member of the IT Project Management Office, the IT Project Manager is responsible for supporting the roadmap and delivery of a range of IT initiatives, projects, and associated benefits, across Saab’s business areas. The IT Project Manager will provide effective leadership and end-to-end management of the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with requirements and approved policies, standards, and procedures. This role is critical in the day-to-day success of the project, ensuring agreed outcomes are achieved in the areas of cost, schedule, scope, quality, benefits realisation, and customer satisfaction. In addition, the IT Project Manager role will be responsible for the maintenance of effective Resource planning across the IT group, including communication of resource needs with the company through the company’s resource management tool. Further, the successful candidate will: Define, manage and take ownership of the scope of work, including schedule, cost and quality outcomes for the project. Provide leadership, direction and delegation to the Project Management Team, as required. Development of the project approach to achieve project and corporate outcomes as per Contract/Project Directive, including identification of opportunity in order to maximise outcomes. Prepare, monitor and revise project plans, estimates, cost accounts and schedules for the project to meet the objectives set by the Contract/Project Directive. Assess risk related to the project. Lead and present status at Steering Committee Meetings, Gate Reviews, Customer Reviews and Progress Meetings. Manage Contract Variations and scope change. Develop and maintain knowledge on the use of the solution. Develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders. Comply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, Health & safety, Bullying, Harassment, Violence and Aggression, and duty of care and the quality management system. Treat everyone with respect, communicate regularly and openly with manager and team, and ensure all decisions are made with fairness in mind. Perform other duties as assigned. Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9-day fortnight and part time will be considered for this role. The preferred location is VIC however a strong candidate in SA may be considered. About you Your skills and experience will include: At least 5 years’ experience in managing Information Technology (IT) projects. Demonstrated understanding of best practice Project Management. Demonstrated ability in the project management and leadership of IT projects. Demonstrated understanding of the lifecycle of IT projects. Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies (Highly Desirable). Demonstrated ability to lead staff within a team environment and to foster cooperation within and between teams. Experience in producing and reviewing project documentation. Demonstrated scheduling and planning skills. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral). Well-developed ability to work with others in a team environment. Well-developed ability to provide leadership. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions. Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or in a Business discipline (Desirable) Post-Graduate Qualifications in Project Management (Desirable) Project Management Certification through AIPM or other equivalent institution (Desirable) As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level or have the ability to gain one.] Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
