Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Provider Manager (m/f/d) for an established, nationwide insurance and financial services group. The company has a complex IT landscape and collaborates with various external technology and service partners.

In this role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of selected IT providers – from initial contact and contracting through ongoing collaboration to the further development or potential replacement of existing service providers. Furthermore, you will contribute to the professionalization of company-wide IT provider management.

Your place of work is Hamburg , with three days of attendance per week.

Your responsibility

You are the central point of contact for selected IT providers and are responsible for managing them throughout the entire service provider lifecycle:

You will guide new provider relationships from needs assessment through selection and commissioning to integration into ongoing operations.
Together with the specialist departments, you will develop performance requirements, participate in tenders and review service descriptions and contractual agreements.
You manage strategically relevant IT service providers based on agreed services, service levels, KPIs and economic framework conditions.
In case of performance deviations, you take charge of escalation, agree on improvement measures and monitor their implementation.
You evaluate providers in terms of performance, risks, and their suitability for future requirements.
You will handle contract changes, extensions, and, if necessary, the replacement or transition of existing service providers.
You will work closely with IT procurement, contract managers, information security, governance and compliance.
You will further develop standards for service provider management and support the establishment of a central, categorized supplier pool.

This is what you bring with you

Several years of experience in the independent management of external IT service providers , for example in IT Provider Management, IT Vendor Management or IT Outsourcing Management.
Practical experience across several phases of the provider lifecycle – particularly in provider selection, contract and service management, and operational performance control.
Security in dealing with SLAs, KPIs, service descriptions and IT service contracts.
Experience in collaborating with larger IT providers and various internal stakeholders.
Understanding of ITSM processes as well as governance, risk, and compliance requirements. Knowledge of DORA or comparable regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
A degree in IT, a comparable qualification, or relevant professional experience.

Your actual responsibility for external IT providers is crucial. A purely procurement-related role or simply managing internal IT services does not cover the core focus of this position.
