IT RISK & GOVERNANCE MANAGER (9-MONTH CONTRACT)

Contract Duration: 9 Months (Immediate Start)
Location: Melbourne, Victoria
We are seeking an experienced IT Risk & Governance Manager to join our IT and Digital Services team on a 9-month contract. This critical leadership role is responsible for proactively managing IT risk, governance frameworks, and change initiatives across existing systems, outsourced services, and project portfolios.
You’ll collaborate closely with the IT Project Manager, Enterprise Architect, and other IT leaders to enhance visibility of in-flight initiatives, ensure risks are actively mitigated, and drive continuous improvement within the IT function.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years in IT management with strong governance and risk leadership.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and project oversight.
  • Deep understanding of IT architecture, security, and service delivery.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching capabilities.
  • Ability to address procedural gaps with a pragmatic and effective approach.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage IT risks from the enterprise risk register, ensuring alignment with architectural and operational priorities.
  • Establish practical remediation strategies for architecture, security, and service quality risks.
  • Work with the IT Project Manager to implement governance controls and transparent reporting for all projects.
  • Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders on project progress, risks, and delivery gaps.
  • Support and coach IT teams in improving risk ownership and delivery outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and transparency in risk and issue management.
