INFORMATION SECURITY ANALYST

Location: On-site at headquarters in Oakville, ON
We are seeking a skilled Information Security Analyst to support our security operations team . This role is critical in strengthening our cybersecurity posture, monitoring security systems, and responding to incidents. The successful candidate will work closely with IT and business teams to ensure our environment remains secure and compliant with best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in IT Security, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, antivirus management, and EDR platforms.
  • Strong understanding of malware, phishing, vulnerability scanning, and endpoint protection.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    Job Type: Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 6 months
    Pay: $70.00-$80.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Responsibilities
  • Manage cybersecurity-related service desk tickets, including user communication and issue resolution.
  • Review, analyze, and investigate security alerts generated by SIEM platforms.
  • Assess new endpoint application installations for compliance with security policies.
  • Conduct vulnerability and threat scans, generate reports, and provide remediation recommendations.
  • Manage antivirus (on-premises and cloud) deployment, policies, and incident investigations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on AV exclusions and remediation of malware incidents.
  • Support post-deployment security tasks for new servers to align with security standards.
  • Monitor and manage email security systems to detect and mitigate phishing and spam threats.
  • Investigate suspicious emails and support phishing awareness initiatives.
  • Administer and monitor Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms, analyzing alerts and performing remediation.
  • Participate in threat hunting, root cause analysis, and change management (RFCs).
  • Triage escalated incidents from IT Service Desk teams.
