Description

We’re looking for a proactive and experienced IT Security Analyst to join our IT Operations team. You will help protect our network estate of over 800 users across 3 sites. Our Head office is based in Manchester (Sale) and we have 2 other sites on our network estate based in Manchester City Centre & Glasgow. YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years in a technical InfoSec or vulnerability analyst role
  • Proven expertise with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Microsoft Defender, Qualys, or Rapid7, including oversight of patch management processes
  • Solid understanding of vulnerability scoring systems (e.g. CVSS v3.1) and the ability to prioritise risks effectively
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows patching procedures and system hardening practices
  • Strong grasp of security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and Cyber Essentials.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, development, and risk management
  • Exposure to SIEM platforms with experience in interpreting and responding to security alerts.
  • Experience supporting technical security audits and assessments, contributing to compliance and risk mitigation
  • Familiarity with vendor and supplier risk assessments, including due diligence and third-party security reviews

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Skilled in vulnerability scanning tools including analysis, triage and remediation tracking
  • Strong understanding of OS and network security
  • Comfortable using command line tools and basic scripting (PowerShell, Python)
  • Familiar with ticketing systems (e.g. Jira, ServiceNow) and threat intelligence sources
  • Comfortable using command line on Linux/Windows for basic investigations
  • Basic understanding of scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and automation is a plus

Responsibilities

As part of our team, you’ll take the lead on vulnerability management, threat detection, and supporting compliance initiatives. You’ll work closely with infrastructure, risk, and IT service colleagues to identify and remediate security weaknesses, ensuring our systems stay resilient and secure.

  • Lead the full vulnerability management lifecycle: scanning, triage, prioritisation, and remediation tracking
  • Analyse threats using CVSS scoring and assess business impact
  • Monitor and respond to SIEM alerts, escalating when needed
  • Support our Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned to ISO 27001
  • Provide technical support for compliance efforts, collaborating with the Security Auditor during internal/external audits.
  • Communicate vulnerabilities to asset owners, track remediation, and follow up on timelines.
  • Review threat intelligence feeds and correlate with known vulnerabilities
  • Help develop and maintain security policies, documentation, and standards
  • Collaborate across teams (e.g. infrastructure, architecture, app support, risk) to embed secure practices into our operations
  • Play a key role in conducting risk assessments and actively contribute to the ongoing management and improvement of the security risk register
