Description Summary: We are seeking a dedicated IT Security Analyst to join our team. The role blends technical threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security tool administration to safeguard critical information assets. The ideal candidate will protect the organization’s systems, networks, and data by continuously monitoring for threats, responding to security incidents, and strengthening defenses across the technology environment. Job Responsibilities: Monitor security alerts, logs, and events, investigating suspicious activity and escalating or remediating as needed. Support incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, recovery, and documentation of security events. Conduct vulnerability scanning, track patches, and assist in hardening systems, networks, and applications. Maintain and tune security tools such as SIEM, EDR, and firewalls; collaborate in rule creation and refinement. Assist with security audits, compliance activities, and user awareness training to improve organizational security posture. Qualifications needed to perform this position: Experience: Associate’s degree in computer science, information security, or related field, or equivalent experience 2–4 years of IT or security operations experience, preferably in SOC, network, or systems environments. Technical Skills: Knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS, authentication, and encryption fundamentals. Skills in log analysis, basic scripting, analytical reasoning, and attention to detail. Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or GSEC (preferred but not required). Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Customer service-oriented mindset. Requirements Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: This job operates in an office environment. Physical Demands: This employee will regularly be sitting at a computer and will also be standing, walking, and speaking. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position working either AM or PM based on the needs of the business.
