Here's what you can look forward to:
- You will become part of the Operational Resilience Team at Aareal Bank. In addition to the advertised tasks, the team's responsibilities also include non-financial risk management, operational risk management, and third-party risk management.
- In your role, you will take on tasks in information security (cyber security).
- Specifically, you will identify, assess and manage information security risks, monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and optimize our Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- You assess vulnerabilities in information security, support the creation of reports and presentations for management on information security topics, and collaborate on projects.
- Together with specialist departments and external partners, you will improve risk management and coordinate measures to reduce risks.
- You are particularly familiar with the risks arising from the use of AI and cloud services, and you are interested in helping to shape the management of these risks.
- Especially in light of new threats from AI, you will further develop our awareness concept.
We can look forward to this:
- Successfully completed studies in a STEM subject (mathematics, engineering, natural sciences, technology) or a comparable field
- Several years of relevant professional experience, including know-how in setting up an information security management system for financial institutions
- Experience in implementing legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. DOR, ISO 2700x)
- Expert in cybersecurity, information security, and AI governance
- Strong communication skills, a structured, results-oriented work style, and the ability to adapt quickly to new situations.

Your role and responsibilities
- Management of IT security projects & initiatives: You plan and manage cross-functional IT security projects – from conception to successful implementation.
- IT Security Governance: You identify and analyze regulatory and internal IT security requirements and translate them into concrete, actionable measures – in close coordination with internal and external partners.
- Audit, Risk & Compliance: You coordinate IT audits and risk assessments, support the preparation and implementation of measures, and ensure their sustainable follow-up.
- Central point of contact: You are the central point of contact for all IT security issues. In this role, you promote collaboration between IT teams, specialist departments, service providers and auditors, and strengthen security awareness throughout the entire company.
- Security Backlog: You maintain a structured overview of open initiatives, measures and risks, and ensure their consistent prioritization and implementation.
Your profile
- You have a completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering, business informatics or a comparable qualification.
- You impress with your strong stakeholder management skills and build trusting relationships across different departments and hierarchical levels.
- You confidently drive topics forward even without disciplinary authority and ensure successful implementation through consistent follow-up.
- You communicate clearly, in a way that is appropriate for the target group and diplomatically, and you know when assertiveness is required.
- You feel comfortable in a dynamic environment with unclear parameters, act proactively and recognize potential for improvement early on.
- You have a good understanding of organizational matters and combine perseverance with a solution-oriented, structured and cooperative way of working.
- Very good to excellent German skills, both spoken and written (C-level).
