IT SECURITY SPECIALIST

Location: Derriford Business Park, Plymouth
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum, plus performance bonus
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking an IT Security Specialist to play a key role in the delivery of IT security services across Delt and our customers. This role involves identifying and responding to security threats, managing risks, monitoring compliance, and contributing to the development of robust security policies and processes. You will provide expert guidance and mentorship while ensuring security operations meet agreed service levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as Deputy for the Cyber Security Technical Lead, supporting day-to-day operations.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to team members and customers.
  • Oversee security tickets, ensuring prompt allocation and resolution within SLA timelines.
  • Manage threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and incident responses.
  • Support audits and compliance activities, including DSP Toolkit submissions and third-party reviews.
  • Advise internal and external stakeholders on security best practices and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, controls, and processes.
  • Support procurement and management of penetration testing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, information security, and relevant legislation.
  • Participate in security investigations and vendor security assessments.
