POSITION SUMMARY

As the IT Security Specialist, your role is to support both IT Security and Web/Business Application Development. You will be responsible for strengthening our security posture in alignment with HQ policies, including Active Directory administration, patch management, and network security. Additionally, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business applications using frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular.js, and the Microsoft Power Platform. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of security protocols and application solutions, while providing technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders as needed.

EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATION / KNOWLEDGE

• 1-5 years of experience in IT security operations, incident response, or other IT-related roles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, and security configuration management.
• Practical experience with Patch Management Systems (WSUS, SCCM, Intune) for updates and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with enterprise network security solutions (Cisco, Palo Alto, or equivalent).
• Experience implementing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform or Dynamics 365.
• Basic experience with web front-end development using frameworks such as Vue.js or Angular.js.
• Knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) principles and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH, CCSP, GIAC, CIPP/C (Canada), or Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

[IT SECURITY - PRIMARY DUTIES]

• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining IT security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Monitor and analyze security events, logs, and alerts, and participate in incident response, including investigation, containment, recovery, and documentation.
• Manage user access controls and identity management systems.
• Administer and secure Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy, including implementing security hardening and tuning.
• Monitor and secure enterprise networks, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN infrastructure.
• Manage Patch Management Systems (WSUS, SCCM, Intune) for updates and vulnerability remediation.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams, external vendors, and corporate headquarters to strengthen overall security posture.
• Prepare and deliver regular security reports to the corporate security organization.
• Support security awareness training and compliance initiatives for employees and third parties.

[WEB AND BUSINESS APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT - SECONDARY DUTIES]

• Develop and maintain web applications using Vue.js or Angular.js.
• Design and implement business solutions leveraging Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Dynamics 365.
• Integrate external APIs and databases with frontend frameworks and Microsoft business applications.
• Troubleshoot, optimize performance, and ensure scalability and security compliance across applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver user-friendly enterprise solutions.
