Job Title: IT Senior Java Developer
Location: Quincy, MA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months (Tentative, with possible extension)

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Java Developer to join a critical healthcare technology team focused on Medicaid systems development and application modernization. This role involves supporting key enterprise applications and leading initiatives related to AWS cloud migration.
This is a hybrid position based in Quincy, MA, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful public service projects while advancing your technical career in a dynamic, team-driven environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE:

• Extensive experience in Java/J2EE stack, including Apache, Tomcat, and Linux environments
• Strong knowledge of Spring Framework, Hibernate, XML/XSLT, and multithreaded programming
• Proficiency in PHP, AJAX, Spring Boot, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, Angular (2.0+), and/or Node.js
• Experience with RESTful and SOAP Web Services and application security practices
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Familiarity with big data tools such as Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana
• Performance tuning and testing experience
• Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in an agile environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in software development with a focus on enterprise Java applications
• Proficient in Oracle databases and SQL-based development
• Experience with application servers (e.g., WebLogic) and Agile methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to produce well-documented, testable, and scalable code

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and maintain high-impact healthcare applications
• Manage the full software development life cycle including documentation, architecture, design specs, and deployment plans
• Develop and optimize SQL scripts, queries, and data integration views
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, BAs, release engineers, and project managers
• Maintain code repositories using version control and change management tools
• Support DevOps processes and application lifecycle from inception to deployment and maintenance
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the team
