Description
The Boundary is seeking an IT Service Lead to join our global IT Enterprise team. While you will be based in our Auckland studio at Freemans Bay, you will operate within a truly international framework, reporting directly to the IT Director based in the UK. In this role, you will be the primary technical lead for the APAC region, ensuring our infrastructure is robust, scalable and aligned with our global standards. This is a permanent position designed for a proactive problem-solver who can bridge the gap between local operations and global strategy. Your Focus Regional Infrastructure Leadership: Lead the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of network and server infrastructure for the region, collaborating closely with your UK counterparts. Hardware & Software Lifecycle: Coordinate the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of all end-user hardware and software applications. Global Service Delivery: Provide high-quality technical support to the regional team, managing incident and request processes to ensure seamless business continuity. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring favourable terms and strict adherence to SLAs. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the IT Director and management to execute long-term IT strategies and propose initiatives that enhance our infrastructure. Security & Compliance: Support the implementation of IT security policies, address vulnerabilities, and conduct regular audits to protect against an evolving external threat environment. Documentation & Training: Foster a culture of self-help by creating comprehensive system documentation and delivering training programs for the local team. Budget Oversight: Manage the local department's budget, optimising expenses and providing regular performance reports to senior management. Professional Experience: You bring 2–5 years of experience in IT Service Management or a similar role, demonstrating a solid background in infrastructure and support. Advanced Technical Stack: Proven experience supporting Microsoft environments (Windows, AD, Hyper-V), AWS cloud infrastructure, and the Google Workspace stack. Network Expertise: Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including VPN and firewall setup/maintenance. Senior Technical Leadership: Ability to manage complex projects independently and unsupervised, with the foresight to identify and solve issues before they arise. Global Communication: Expert ability to communicate and teach concepts, processes, and tools to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Operational Excellence: An expert end-to-end understanding of workstream pipelines with the ability to provide feedback and suggestions to help achieve business goals. Qualifications: A degree in Information Technology is preferred; MCSE/MCITP or multiple MCPs are an advantage but not a necessity.
