IT Asset Management Specialist
Position Description - This position supports the DMDC EMITS IT Asset Management team. The ITAM specialist will support hardware asset management activities throughout the entire asset management lifecycle. These activities include conducting physical inventory of IT assets, maintaining, and updating asset information in systems of record, and the processing of end-of-life, defective, and damaged equipment appropriately. The staff member will be under the oversight of an ITAM manager who will provide direction on initiatives and activities.
Primary Responsibilities and Activities
Track, manage, and coordinate the purchase of new equipment, replacements, and upgrades
Maintain and update asset information in systems of record (DPAS, SEMOSS, ServiceNow)
Process end-of-life, defective, and/or damaged equipment appropriately
Perform physical inventory of IT assets to support the annual inventory report deliverable
Perform monthly inventory spot checks of hardware assets
Compile hardware asset data reports
Skills/ Knowledge:
Ability to prioritize and coordinate work for team members
Excellent attention to detail and adherence to processes and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work independently and possess analytical processing skills
Customer service oriented, team collaboration, self-motivated.
Experience using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Beneficial Skills/Knowledge (not required):
Working knowledge/ familiar with DODi 5000.64 or equivalent property accountability Instruction / regulation
Working knowledge of IT assets, processing transactions within ELMS (fka DPAS) or other government equivalent Accountable property systems.
Working knowledge /Familiar with Service Now or equivalent ticketing system.
Working knowledge /Familiar with SEMOSS or equivalent inventory Data base.
Working knowledge / familiar with DLA/DRMO excess equipment processing I.e. form 1348-1 , ETIDS, EDOCS
Cataloging equipment utilizing WEBFLIS, packing slips, vendor websites, etc.
Requirements:
Non-remote: Willing to relocate or live in or near the Seaside/Monterey, CA area.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment and lift 30 lbs. Utilize material handling equipment, palletizing equipment for shipment, packing, shipping, and receiving equipment and supplies.
Ability to gain Secret government clearance
Potential for some travel to perform on-location inventory audits?
