IT SOFTWARE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN   1.0    Corporate Job Title IT Software Support Technician 2.0    Reporting Relationships IT Director 3.0    Position Summary The primary objective for this candidate will be to provide first level support for end users, as well as hands-on desktop repairs, upgrades, and maintenance. 4.0    Minimum Requirements •    Associate degree in Information Technology or a related discipline from an accredited college or university required; Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior. •    Two years’ experience in a computer related field. High level of productivity, and hardware skills. •    Must possess excellent critical thinking, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills. 5.0    Fitness for Duty – Physical Demands •    Refer to Appendix 1 of Section 2.1.2a of the Safety Manual, Medical Evaluations for details on Fit for Duty – Physical Demands for this position.  •    The ability to perform all tasks listed is a requirement for this job description 6.0    Responsibilities •    Knowledge and experience in hardware/software concepts, tools, and support best  •    practices.  •    Support various software products, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Anti-Virus and Anti- Spyware products, and various client-specific software.  •    Respond to support issues via ticketing system, e-mail, and/or log-me-in •    Superior communication skills and have the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to end users so they can understand easily. •    Determine escalation points for specific problems and follow instructions for alerting and escalating to IT consulting company. •    Assist in training new users •    Assist in testing software developers coding
Responsibilities
