Job Duties: The Office of Judicial Administration (OJA) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic IT Solution Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and cost-effective information technology solutions for internal and external stakeholders. This role will serve as a technical expert and advisor, responsible for the end-to-end architecture of systems across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will ensure that proposed IT solutions are reliable, accessible, scalable, interoperable, secured and aligned with organizational goals and standards.
The IT Solution Architect plays a key role in driving innovation, aligning IT capabilities with business goals, and ensuring long-term sustainability of architecture. The position requires broad and deep technical knowledge and experience across infrastructure, support, system integration, IT security, software development, and cloud technologies.
Examples of Work Performed

  • Design and develop high-level solution architectures that support business objectives, ensuring compatibility across systems, platforms, and applications.
  • Serve as the architect in major IT initiatives, providing direction and oversight on technical design, development, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into architectural blueprints and roadmaps.
  • Facilitate architecture design sessions and lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies and tools.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise architectural standards, patterns, and guidelines
  • Create and deliver proofs of concepts and prototypes to validate architectural approaches.
  • Assist the Data Team in the development of enterprise data strategies including data sourcing, integration, classification, access and reporting.
  • Monitor and refine existing solutions to ensure stability, performance, and continued alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies for architectural decisions.
  • Mentor technical teams and promote architectural best practices across development lifecycles.
  • Enforce security controls and compliance policies to protect and safeguard IT infrastructure including sensitive data and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and provide recommendations for adoption.

Required Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. (Education requirement can be substituted with equivalent work experience). The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of progressive experience in IT solution architecture, software development, IT Security, IT Support or a similar IT role.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical teams and managing client-facing projects.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable solutions Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in facilitating architecture design workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience developing proofs of concept and piloting solution implementations.
  • Strong understanding of solution evaluation, selection, and integration based on business needs.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman.
  • Understanding of enterprise integration, middleware technologies, and API management platforms.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, database technologies, and data governance best practices.
  • Broad knowledge across multiple IT domains, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, networking, or application development.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Mature analytic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, project teams, and management. Ability to work well in team environments with proven effectiveness at partnering with business and IT teams.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills.
  • Capable of creativity in resolving problems and implementing solutions.
