Job Description We are looking for an experienced IT Solutions Engineer to join a major enterprise transformation programme within a highly regulated environment. This is a hands-on role combining solution architecture, software engineering expertise, and technical leadership. Working closely with the core product team in Dresden, business stakeholders, and distributed delivery teams across Europe and the UK, you will be responsible for designing, evolving, and modernising enterprise-scale platforms while ensuring high standards of performance, scalability, and maintainability. Key Responsibilities Define and drive solution architecture for enterprise applications Lead technical design activities and support implementation across distributed teams Contribute to the modernisation and evolution of complex legacy systems Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure and high-performing Collaborate closely with developers, architects, QA, DevOps and business stakeholders Support delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle Promote engineering best practice and architectural standards across teams Qualifications We are looking for a technology leader with 7+ years' experience in enterprise software development and solution architecture. The ideal candidate will bring a strong Java background, including Java 11/17 and Java EE / Jakarta EE, together with proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications. Strong database design and development expertise, particularly with PostgreSQL, is essential, as is hands-on experience with Eclipse RCP, SWT and JFace, and WildFly Application Server. You should have a solid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design principles and design patterns, with experience leading the modernisation of legacy systems and supporting long-term technology roadmaps. Experience with JPA/Hibernate, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Maven and Azure DevOps would be advantageous. To succeed in this role, you will be a collaborative communicator, comfortable working with geographically distributed teams and engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
