JOB TITLE: IT SPECIALIST

Location: Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Assistant IT Manager / IT Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the hotel’s IT systems, ensuring optimal performance of all computer hardware, software, and network systems. This role focuses on delivering prompt and effective support to hotel staff and ensuring a seamless technology experience for guests.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of IT support experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, Windows operating systems, MS Office Suite, and common hotel applications.
  • Understanding of PMS (Opera), POS (Micros), and other hotel-related systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and respond to urgent IT issues outside of regular hours.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic or other language skills are an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Provide first-level support for all IT-related issues including desktop hardware, software, network connectivity, and printers.
  • Monitor and support hotel systems including PMS, POS, telephone systems, keycard systems, IPTV, and CCTV.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure daily system backups are performed and stored securely.
  • Monitor antivirus, firewall, and security systems to maintain data integrity and protect against cyber threats.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software as required.
  • Assist with server, switch, and network device configuration and maintenance.
  • Document incidents, problems, and solutions in the IT helpdesk system.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for hardware maintenance, service calls, and new implementations.
  • Assist in system upgrades, installations, and hotel IT projects.
  • Support in maintaining inventory of IT equipment, licenses, and consumables.
  • Educate users on safe computing practices and basic troubleshooting techniques.
