Bgesh is looking for eager and qualified IT Specialist to support our team with effective installation or configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for the Mescalero Service Unit Information Technology Department.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass a federal government background Check
  • Ability to provide certificate of completion within 30 days of employment of the following trainings:
  • Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse as stated in IHM Circular 19-05: Contractor Training Plan for Implementation of Indian Health Manual Part 3, Chapter 20, Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse by Health Care Providers.
  • Ability to provide proof of immunizations

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for effective installation or configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
  • Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, administrators, and medical staff to effectively provide healthcare services.
  • Accountable for the following systems: Windows systems; Windows and Applications that are supported for use with and include the RPMS and EHR Systems
  • Responsible for the support and maintenance to ensure continual operations of the systems in previous bullet.
  • Maintain full administrative rights to all server systems, network resources, and data management/backup solutions.
  • Map related solutions for various projects and operational needs based on the policies of IHS with COR approval.
  • Install new/ rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, in accordance with IHS standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain IHS system standards.
  • Recommend innovations where possible to automate system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage resources.
  • Perform monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Performs security monitoring.
  • Perform backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and purge as necessary.
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts as needed.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
  • Requires at least one support IT staff from IHS under direction as needed.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
  • Configure and add new services as necessary.
  • Maintain operational, configuration, and other procedures.
  • Perform bi-weekly written progress reports to COR.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  • Maintains data center monitoring of equipment.
  • Provides occasional guidance, some of which is technical.
  • Provide training sessions to end users when necessary.
  • Weekly hours with timesheets submitted to COR.
  • Works independently without supervision following the program’s needs and requirements provided.
  • responsible for maintaining satisfactory standards of competence, conduct, appearance and integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
